Enhanced CRB Regulation Changes

All local authorities have now changed their regulations with regards to CRB Disclosures for temporary staff. From November 2009, all CRB Disclosures are no longer portable from agency to agency. This effectively would mean that whilst a candidate has obtained a CRB Disclosure through one agency, only the agency where they have obtained this clearance would be allowed to put the candidate forward for temporary assignments requesting this clearance. The days of multiple agencies are over.

Bearing in mind the cost of getting CRB cleared is left with the temporary worker, this exercise could leave candidates out of pocket many times over. The reasoning behind this regulation change has not been explained to the agencies and does not appear to have any practical reasoning behind it. All agencies will need to forward applications to the Criminal Records Bureau.

With the job market still on the slow side, getting a clearance does provide candidates with better chance of a placement with local authorities. Central Public Recruitment is now offering all candidate who wish to obtain a clearance a refund of fees paid ( currently £46.00) if you are placed by the agency.

"I have been really happy with the service provided by CENTRAL PUBLIC Recruitment."
