Training for Temporary Workers

In a controversial article in The Recruiter last week a question being posed as to whether recruitment agencies need to provide training to their temps who are out of work to assist the in their job search?

What the benefits to the temps? They receive additional skills, clients benefit more for a more highly skilled workforce and the recruiters gain a revenue stream ­ It’s a win win situation.

A recent survey carried out by secsLife found that 41% of temps received some informal induction training and 43% received informal help from an existing staff member. In comparison to 82% of permanent staff given training when starting a job.
